I'm a published wedding and portrait photographer located in a small town outside of Charlottesville. In addition to capturing beautiful images, I love spending time with my family, am freakishly good at word games (Hey Wheelmobile!), love an ice cold can of Coke or Dr. Pepper, know every line to Hocus Pocus and can never pass up a Chick-fil-A waffle fry or a trip to HomeGoods.

Foodie Friday: Blue Mountain Brewery

Maybe it’s because it has been raining for the past 11 days or maybe it’s because we just had our fence installed (more on that in a future blog post), but I’m dreaming of amazing outdoor spaces. One of my favorite belongs to Blue Mountain Brewery. Located on the Nelson 151, Blue Mountain was actually […]

Foodie Friday: Easy Chicken Taco Salad

I love tacos and taco salads, but sometimes I just don’t feel like making them from scratch. It’s not that it’s hard, because it really isn’t, but more than it can be time consuming especially on a night when you get home from work late, your spouse is at a meeting and you don’t feel like […]

Foodie Friday: Citizen Burger Bar

So tonight, for the first time in weeks, my husband and I went out to dinner at a new (to us) restaurant. With the warm weather and our close proximity to Charlottesville, we decided to try Citizen Burger Bar, which is located in the Downtown Mall area. Citizen Burger Bar is just what it sounds […]

Foodie Friday: Gluten Free Philly Cheesesteaks

Welcome to Foodie Fridays, a new blog series focusing on eating–both at home and at local restaurants. A few years ago, after suffering from stomach issues since I was a young child, I made the decision to go gluten free and I haven’t looked back since. Removing gluten from my diet completely changed my life and […]

Christmas songs…

If you’re like me, you spend weeks flipping stations to avoid Christmas music until it’s seasonally appropriate. For instance, no one wants to rock around the tree in early November. I’m a firm believer in allowing Thanksgiving to be complete before getting into the Christmas spirit. However, once the turkey is cleaned up, it’s full […]

Thomas’ Third Birthday Party | Virginia Birthday Party

Thomas recently celebrated his third birthday and he did so with maybe every child’s dream–a barnyard party. I’d never heard of a barnyard party, especially not one that would set up on location. It was definitely one of the coolest child’s birthday parties I’ve seen. The cake was adorable, there were tons of animals for the […]

Erin’s Baby Shower | Virginia Baby Showers

Earlier this summer, the arrival of my newest niece was celebrated with a beyond adorable baby shower. The shower honoring my future sister-in-law, Erin, was given by her mother, Susan, who spared no imagination in her decorating. From the super cute raindrop theme to the overall pink decor, Erin and Charlotte were celebrated in style.

Guy | Virginia Little League

It was a hot one last month as I ventured out to see my nephew, Guy, play in a little league game. You may remember him from an earlier post in which he played tee-ball. Now, he’s in machine pitch which is a whole new ballgame, literally. Gone are the days of whacking the ball […]

Aaron and Sam | Virginia High School Soccer

Recently, I was able to attend a high school soccer game to see my husband’s younger brother, Aaron, and cousin, Sam, play. I went armed with camera in hand, of course, and despite the fact I couldn’t actually get closer to the field (sometimes I think my press pass should be nationwide), I was able […]

Happy birthday, Arielle!

Today is my niece’s first birthday! She’s currently the youngest of my five nieces and nephews (three boys and two girls from among my sister and two sister-in-laws), a title that will change this summer when my newest niece is set to arrive. Until then, Arielle is the baby of the family. She celebrated her […]
