I'm a published wedding and portrait photographer located in a small town outside of Charlottesville. In addition to capturing beautiful images, I love spending time with my family, am freakishly good at word games (Hey Wheelmobile!), love an ice cold can of Coke or Dr. Pepper, know every line to Hocus Pocus and can never pass up a Chick-fil-A waffle fry or a trip to HomeGoods.

Fall travels: Portland, ME

As I mentioned before (quite a few weeks ago because I’ve been packing, moving and unpacking), my husband and I take a trip each fall. Due to moving, we weren’t able to continue the tradition this past fall, but that’s okay because I can live vicariously through my photos from last year when we traveled […]

Fall travels: New Haven, CT

Every fall, my husband and I take a vacation to celebrate our anniversary. We’ve done this since we were married in 2010, but this year, we’re buying a house so we’ve been grounded. We’re super blessed to be able to take vacations, and I admit I’m a little sad we had to take a year […]

Virginia Safari Park

Finishing up my birthday Natural Bridge trip was a stop by the Virginia Safari Park. If you’ve never been, go! It’s a 180-acre park with more than 1,000 animals, many of whom are free range in the strictest sense–they roam throughout the property. Visitors purchase a bucket of feed and then drive through the park, […]

Natural Bridge

After a visit to the amazing Natural Bridge Zoo, my husband and I stopped by Natural Bridge. I had been there years ago as a child with my family, but I was really excited to go back. Plus, my husband had never been and I feel like you can’t be a Virginian without having visited […]

Natural Bridge Zoo

I had been looking into the Natural Bridge Zoo for months. I knew what animals resided there, what their names were, when it was open, etc. You name it, I had looked it up so I was extremely excited when my husband took me to the zoo for my birthday. It was everything I had […]

Nags Head Vacation Highlights

Every year, my husband’s extended family heads to the Outer Banks for a week-long beach vacation. There’s about two dozen of us piled up into one house, ranging in age from just a few months to late-60’s, so things can get fairly interesting at times, but we all love our week-long trip and look forward […]

Go-karting…

Every summer, during our week in the Outer Banks, we head out to the racetrack for some go-karting. It’s a fun activity that everyone can enjoy one evening after dinner. Some of us are watchers, while others are drivers, but it all works out in the end even though the location sometimes changes. This past […]

2013 Fredericksburg Fair

I’ll admit it, I love fairs. It’s not the rides or the food that gets me excited, it’s the animals, the exhibits and the lighting. I always go check out all of the animals first and of course try to convince my husband that we absolutely need the fuzziest, floppiest eared rabbit they have. It […]

Sunflowers and raspberries…

A bit of a funny story on these photos: On our way home one afternoon, my husband and I found a gorgeous sunflower field. It was located at one of those pick-your-own-berries operations, so we figured it was fine to visit. We parked our car up near the store, which was open, walked to the […]

Richmond Squirrels

I love minor league baseball. The crowd is always so fun and they do really crazy things to get everyone pumped up like dances, running around the field with a live pig, peanut races and more. Granted, when we went in July it was sweltering. In one of the photos below you can actually see […]
